About Indoor Cricket at Redbridge

Indoor cricket is a variant of and shares many basic concepts with the outdoor games. It is usually played in an indoor multi sport hall and we currently use the newly built sport hall at Mayfield School which ha s a wooden sprung flooring.

Several versions of the game have been in existence since the late 1960s and at Redbridge we have added another vision which is fun-filled and yet competetive. With 5 balls overs and 3 runs for a wide and "free hit" for all no balls you can already see the difference.

With a protective mat on the floor and full length pitch we use a compressed soft ball which means pads are not necessary. Batsman retire at 25 and each bowler allow 3 overs max except for the premium batsman (35) and premium bowler (4 ov) who must be nominated before the game.

Each team consist of six players with 13 overs (max) per side and each game last approximately one hetic hour. It fast and furious with lots of twist and turns but in the end one team usually wins.

The Vision Redbridge Indoor League currently has two divisions consisting of 6 teams per division and the season runs from early October to mid April.

If you are interesting in playing indoor cricket or have a team of at least 6 players contact Ian on 07944576188.

We also run an outdoor league known as "Last Man Stands" which is played midweek during the summer and last around 2 hours. So if you are pushed for time and want to still play cricket, spare a couple hours one afternoon week and join our LMS league. Call Ian or email redbridge@lastmanstands.co.uk for mor information.
